Accessible PDF that keeps your typeset pages
DocSpry adds the structure a screen reader needs to the PDF you already have. The pages look exactly as they did; underneath, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, figures and the reading order are tagged, and running heads and page numbers are marked as page furniture.
What you get
Your original design
The tags are added to the source file, so fonts, layout and colour stay as typeset.
A PDF/UA check
A PDF/UA check runs on each publish and its report comes with the file.
The same review as your EPUB
Corrections you make in the editor flow into the accessible PDF and the EPUB alike.
Priced by pages
You pay for converting the PDF; publishing the accessible PDF from it costs nothing extra.
What DocSpry does not do
- Scanned PDFs are not supported. DocSpry needs a born-digital PDF with real text.
- Automated checks cannot judge whether an image description is meaningful. A person still needs to review those.
- Forms are not made fillable.
